I don’t know what other certified coders make, but I can promise you that I am a certified coder living in Louisiana and not making even half of that salary. I made more money before I went to college and got my degree and certification. Salaries in Louisiana are horrible and we are being taken advantage of. The benefits are good, but I can’t pay bills and support my daughter with benefits. And the insurance benefit, well, I still have to pay my own insurance. So, I guess the benefits are not that good. Just afraid to leave after being at job for a while with 401K and profit sharing.
